Do you need a web designer?
I do, and that's the reason I found myself searching the classified this Sunday trying to find one that stood out. I was looking for one that was obviously market savvy. In the middle of it all, it hit me, this can truly be a learning experience. Why not ask for your opinion.
Below you will find the URLs for 7 web designers whose ads appeared in the Trinidad and Tobago Express under Web Services last Sunday March 14, 2010.
The fact that there are so many indicates that there is a demand in the market for websites or that there are an over supply and the ads were from the more proactive designers attempting to source the little demand that exist. So let’s see how well they present their case.
The only criteria used for featuring the web designers listed below is that they are actively advertising their services, paying the Express money which infers that they need more business.
This is not an endorsement it is solely for comparison purposes. In the newspaper, they are all placed together so any prospective client will probably go through the same process.
Click on the links below to view the sites. Keep in mind that this is their best work. If it’s not , it should be. Do a quick evaluation of the sites using the following criteria and comment on which one impresses you the most and the least and why.
Look at the following elements of thier sites:
• Unique Selling Proposition - What words are they using to differentiate themselves from the others.
• Clarity of offer - Is that they are offering immediately clear to you, and
• Ease of Contact - How easy is it to contact them, i.e. phone numbers, skype ID or other.
Choose the best and the worst, in your opinion. Just on what you see and the impression it left on you. Even if none of them impresses you; i.e. you will not go to them for work, share your reasons.
